I made a bag.

I have finally finished the bag I have been making on Tuesday night craft with the ladies next door. It has taken me a long time, Im pretty sure we started it last year. It is to be a bag for carrying my sewing things when I take them out. I am almost tempted to use it as a handbag because I love it so much but I know how I treat my handbags so I wont.

It was mostly hand sewn so that took awhile and not a lot of sewing gets down with all the chatting and eating of cakes and other treats...... especially homemade nougat (can you say yum)


Some of the fabrics and the felt leaves are the same as the ones I used in this sewing case. So it all matches. It is nice having things that match.

My next Tuesday night craft project is going to be an appliquéd pillow so I can learn needle turn appliqué. It is going to be in yellows. I hopefully I will get to start that soon. We have missed three weeks in a row with people being sick.

It has been so cold in the mountains that I am tempted to make my self a pair of quilted pants. They would be so warm but everyone it telling me they would be too ugly. I'm not convinced. In my head they look good.

    What a gorgeous bag. If you did use it as a handbag it would give you an excuse to make another one. Quilted pants sound like a good idea to me. Winter is definitely creeping in.

I'm finished!!!!

My quilt is bound, washed and dried. Need I say more.  The Front  The Back   Butterfly binding!   I am sitting under it at this very moment. I would like to thank Bec from  Chasing Cottons . I used her Quilt Class 101 . It was easy to follow and I am so happy with the result. I think the class ran last year but that doesn't matter. Not too bad for a first try. xxx ooo

Bringing out the big guns!

I had decided to do a little sewing today because I was inspired by this bag  over at clover and violets. When I realised I didn't have any white thread left and my white bobbin has just ran out. I am pretty lazy when it comes to matching thread colours and usually stick to white. This was the closest I am going to get but by the time I had bobbins filled up and everything threaded I didn't have enough time to sew left. I am hoping to get some sewing done tomorrow. I hope tomorrows post will be more eventful or else it's going to be a long October. xxx ooo
