#modernfabricpostcardswap

Earlier this year I signed up to three swaps on instagram as well as the hexie flower swap. That was before everything in my life went wrong at the same time. I have sent off and received packages for the dog mini swap and the unicorn swap. I will post photos of what I received on a later date. I forgot to take photos of the packages I sent because I was so excited. Unfortunately the dog swap never arrived and I am still waiting for the unicorn one to arrive but I am expecting it to take a while to get to Brazil. I am finally getting back into the swing of things so I will show you the fabric postcards I sent off last week. The swap was make three fabric postcards and send them to three different partners. You will then receive three postcards from three different people. Two of them are going to the UK and one is going to Canada. I was a bit worried posting them because you don't put them in an envelope you use them as an ordinary postcard. I sent them last week so t...

June Flowers

Image
Here are the flowers I have sent to my partner. She asked for flowers with pink or purple petals and neutral centres. I hope she likes them. I have yet to receive any flowers so I will show you the ones I have made myself. I have asked for pastel petals with a fussy cut centre. I haven’t been totally true to this theme as I wouldn’t count all of mine as pastel. Also some of my centres are more memory fabrics rather than fussy cut but its my quilt I can do what I like.

Cushion Swap!

Image
I was recently involved in a cushion swap run by Sue at  quilted hugs  we each got to choose the colours we wanted and what room the cushion was for. It was a secret swap so the person I was making for was not the person making my cushion. My partner picked green for the bedroom. I was not really sure if the room in was made for really made a difference to me but I'm still learning. This is the cushion I made. The blue-green points that look like flying geese are only sewed down on the long side so they flap. I think they are fun. This is the first project I made using no pattern, tutorial, instructions etc. I saw a similar photo in a magazine and decided to try to make it. It was a challenge trying to work out sizes but I'm pretty proud of my self. I really hope my partner likes it. I always find with swaps I doubt myself so much and I worry that my work isn't good enough. I asked for a yellow and grey cushion for the bedroom. I love my cushion. Isn't it lovely...

Harry Potter Mug Rug Swap

Image
I have almost finished my Harry Potter Mug Rug. I just have to quilt and bind it (and clean off the chalk). The swap is a fall, Harry Potter theme and my partner likes Dobby, lions, dragons, quills and pumpkins and is in Griffindor. Her favourite book is 'The philosophers stone' I had decided to do I quill and I thought it would be writing out a spell or 'I must not tell lies' but I couldn't work out how to. I decided to make it a floating feather. I hope the colours I used are 'fall' enough. I think I will bind it in an orange. xxx ooo

Time flys when your having... fun!

October has been crazy! I started of Blogtoberfest with all these grand plans but it all fizzed out pretty quickly. I have been super busy with sport, craft night, the gym, work and friends and I do not have a night free all week. Tonight I am treating myself to a night in so I thought it would be best to catch up. My phone is not sending photos to my computer anymore and I can't get them off. I don't know how to fix it. I made a bag using this tutorial  from clover and violet . It was super easy to make and it looks great. I made mine a little smaller than they did. I am using to to carry around my paper piecing. It is the perfect size. I have joined a siggy swap! It is still open if you want to join. It can be found here . I am planning on using this fabric as I have it in my stash. The swap is for modern fabric only and I know that the Little Apples line came out last year. Is it still modern enough? I am so excited about this swap. The first time...

They need more members though so if you like Harry Potter you should join too. This is the group .
